Welcome to our blog about Taking Control of Your Health. This week we are going to focus on diet and how improving your diet will improve your life.
As we mentioned in the first week, Diana has been kind enough to allow herself to be our “volunteer” to document how each detoxifying way we discussed during week one has and continues to affect her health. By following “The Whole 30” book on full body cleansing and eliminating all gluten from her diet she has in 30 days:
- Lost 20 pounds
- Her skin is more vibrant and healthier
- She has decreased joint pain
- She doesn’t have the body swelling and inflammation
- Her hair is becoming healthier and thicker
Poor nutrition can impair our daily health and well-being and reduce our ability to lead an enjoyable and active life.
In the short term, poor nutrition can contribute to stress, tiredness, and our loss of capacity to work. Over time, it can contribute to the risk of developing some illnesses and other health problems such as:
- celiac disease and other autoimmune diseases
- being overweight or obese
- tooth decay
- high blood pressure
- high cholesterol
- heart disease and stroke
- type-2 diabetes
- some cancers
- eating disorders
- skin problems such as eczema
As a chiropractor I have witnessed patients throughout the years spending more energy, time and money on material items. And in turn treating their bodies horribly. We need to remember we can’t trade our body in when it quits working, as you do your car.
One of the steps we have used in the process of working with whole body detoxification is Diana’s nutrition. I have enlisted guidance from the “Whole 30” book as a guide to total health and food freedom. It helps you to detoxify and clean your body in 30 days. We all have 30 days to reform our overall health. Everything begins and ends with the nutrition (fuel) we provide our body (machine).
